· Always make sharp and quick passes.

· If you’re sitting on the bench, you need to be paying attention to the game and encouraging your teammates that are out on the court.

· When it’s a full 1 minute time out, the players that are coming off the court get to sit on the bench to rest.

· Always drink water when you come in for a timeout or are sitting on the bench.

Rituals:

·         At the start of the game, at half time, and sometimes when they have timeouts, the team “breaks” before they go back onto the court. This means they all put one hand in the middle of a circle and say a word of phrase, usually motivational. For example, they might say team, Spartans, work, etc.

·         The team often gets together for team dinners during the week of a game. Many times they would have a dinner on a Wednesday night before their game on Thursday. These dinners were held to help the team bond and have some fun together outside of basketball.

·         When the team is running out of the locker room to warm up for their game, they run out to the same warm up music all year. This CD is made by the team at the beginning of the year and is composed of many different short sections of songs of the team’s choice.
